October 16, 2003 - Symbol: YHB (TSXV) HORNBY BAY REPORTS SIGNIFICANT SHAREHOLDING Hornby Bay Exploration Limited (TSX Venture - YHB) reports that James Brady, President of Hornby Bay purchased a total of 2,000,000 common shares of Hornby Bay on October 10, 2003 through the a private placement as announced on October 14, 2003, which when added to previous purchases by Mr. Brady brings his holdings to approximately 8,025,001 common shares. This represents approximately 30.3% of the outstanding common shares of the Company.Mr. Brady has acquired the above-noted shares of the Company for investment purposes and he may, depending on market and other conditions, increase his beneficial ownership, control or direction over the common shares or other securities of the Company, through market transactions, private agreements, treasury issuances, exercise of convertible securities or otherwise.
